Tom Felton "Harry Potter"

The "Harry Potter" series went out in style Sunday night at the Teen Choice Awards, with Tom Felton and Rupert Grint hitting the stage to accept the coveted Choice Summer Movie award.

Felton also presented the Choice Movie Actress award alongside Christopher Mintz-Plasse. As a relative newcomer to the awards-show circuit and first-time Teen Choice Awards presenter, MTV News asked the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" star how much he had prepared for his big day.

"If it's over-prepared, you see sometimes that it's so clearly scripted, and it's not going to be any good," Felton said. "I'm trying to stay loose at the tongue and see what comes out."

Still, he had planned a bit of a skit with Mintz-Plasse to make their presenting duties memorable. When they came out onstage, Mintz-Plasse told Felton that he had a fling with one of the five nominees but had been avoiding her for a while. Felton comforted him by saying that there were five potential winners, so the odds of Mintz-Plasse's lady being chosen were pretty low, but it turns out that winner Cameron Diaz had been the slighted lover all along. After a cute interchange with Mintz-Plasse, Diaz accepted her award.

But that wouldn't be the only time Felton was called up to the microphone that night. He won the Choice Villain award for his work in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," and then he and Grint took the stage to accept the Choice Summer Movie award for the "Potter" cast.

"It's been nearly 11 years since we were cast, so thank you so much for really sharing the journey with us and making these films such a success. None of it would have been possible without you guys," Felton said in his acceptance speech.

The last we saw of Grint and Felton, the man better known as Ron Weasley had crashed the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" premiere wearing a shirt proclaiming his love for Felton. When asked if he was excited to see Grint again at the Teen Choice Awards, Felton had to stop himself from expressing his eagerness.

Early life

Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Andrea Gardner (née Finlay), a homemaker, and Scott Kingsley Swift, a stockbroker. Her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Finlay, was an opera singer. Swift has a younger brother, Austin.

When Swift was in fourth grade, she won a national poetry contest with a three-page poem, "Monster In My Closet". At the age of ten, a computer repairman showed her how to play three chords on a guitar, sparking her interest in learning the instrument. Afterwards, Swift wrote her first song, "Lucky You". When Swift was 12, she devoted an entire summer to writing a 350-page novel, which remains unpublished. She began writing songs regularly and used it as an outlet to help her with her pain from not fitting in at school. Swift was a victim of bullying, and spent her time writing songs to express her emotions. She also started performing at local karaoke contests, festivals, and fairs.

Swift began to regularly visit Nashville, Tennessee, and work with local songwriters. When she was 14, her family relocated to Nashville. Her first major show was a well-received performance at the Bloomsburg Fair.In Tennessee, Swift attended Hendersonville High School, but was subsequently homeschooled for her junior and senior years. In 2008, she earned her high school diploma.

Swift's greatest musical influence is Shania Twain. Her other influences include LeAnn Rimes, Tina Turner, Dolly Parton, and Swift's grandmother. Although her grandmother was a professional opera singer,Swift's tastes always leaned more toward country music. In her younger years, she developed a love for Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton. She also credits the Dixie Chicks for demonstrating the impact that one can have by "stretching boundaries"
